This owl was sitting on a dead tree not too far from the bus.
When the driver started the bus I managed to catch this shot of the owl taking off.

Shuttle Bus in Denali National Park
This is the only transportation availble to mere mortals in the park past mile 15. There are special permits awarded to pro photographers and others who study wildlife.
Landscape in Denali National Park
Many of these landscape photos were taken from the open window of a moving bus since there was little choice. The buses only stopped at the pre-designated rest stops or for wildlife sightings.
Another far away shot of a bear foraging for food. I am not sure what type of bear this was.
This one was actually pretty close to the bus and required very little cropping.
