September: Train Ride from Anchorage to Denali
On September 6, 2009 I rode the Alaska Railroad train from Anchorage to Denali National Park and Preserve. This was my first time riding a train on an actual trip. I spent most of the time on the back platform taking photos of the scenery going by.

The icy clear ones were from melted snow in the mountains while the muddy grey ones were actually full of silt coming from glacial melt. No fish can live in the silt filled rivers because it clogs their gills.
